EN – Event Information – Schinder-Trail Grauer Kopf Extended

The „Schinder-Trail Grauer Kopf Extended“ (Gray Head Extended) with a length of 125km is made for athletic runners with experience in hard Ultratrails with several thousand meters altitude gain, running through a complete night and survive several hours without support. This race is not made to register „just for fun“. Please register only when you are really able to run this distance. 

The course follows in the 44km a new prepared tracking route called „Wispertaunussteig“. This track is still in preparation and not completely marked. From the „Wisper“ river source in the Taunus hills the course follows 15km through a forest until the runners reach Holzhausen where they will follow the 67km long Grauer Kopf track.

The runners will carried with buses at 4:45PM from the event center in Holzhausen to the start line in Lorch/Rhine. After a short briefing the runners will start at 6:00PM and touch the Taunus trails.

All runners will be tracked  an supporters and family members can follow their way through the woods via internet.

There will be wells, small creeks, mineral springs along the course. At the briefing we will inform you with details.

Briefing:
A short obligatory briefing takes place 30 min. before start in Lorch/Rhine at the starting line.

Mandatory equipment:
Head lamp with enough batteries
Backpack with hydration bladder to run a distance of 20km without support.
GPS-Device for navigation. You will not be able to run the first 58km without a gpx-route
You will get a GPS-Tracker which has to stay on the backpack during the whole race
A mobile phone with enough power

Drops:
If you have to drop out of the Run you have to get to the nearest checkpoint and inform the staff there. in emergency case you can also call the emergency number on your bib. A shuttle service will bring you from the checkpoint to the finish line in Holzhausen. Please be patient, it might take a while until a shuttle is available.

Accommodation:
A mattress camp will be available in the Gym. We might be a hillbilly area, but we also have Hotel and Guest houses 🙂 . Booking.com can help you there. But you will be out in the woods at night and run a race. So you don’t need any hotel. 🙂

Award ceremony:
The award ceremony will take place during the after-race party. A finisher medal is awarded to every runner who is back at the finish line before cut-off. Certificates will be provided after the race on the Race-Result Portal.

After-race Party:
From noon Jul. 20th 2019 there will be a delicious BBQ and chilled drinks available. An like always: fair, moderate prices for good food & drink!

Registration:
The registration opens at Oct. 31st 2018 at the Race-Result portal. A refund of the entry fee for no-shows is not provided. A transfer of the starting place to a replacement runner is possible free of charge until Jul. 1st 2019.

1. The subscriber data are stored automatically.
2. We work together with the photographer team „Eventfotografie24.de“. The runners are often photographed on the track and in the start / finish area. You agree with these photos with your registration. You agree that the photos / videos that show you can be published without compensation claim.
3. With your registration you agree that the data given in the registration will be used for timing, placement and creation of start and result lists.
