EN – Event Information – Schinder-Trail (A Pact With The Devil)

In 2019 we will also organize a two-person-relay race. But our relay is different. In our relay race we focus on the relay-team. The highlight will be the team finish. In all other relays the last runner will finish the race. At the Schinder-Trail both runners will run the last 9km to the finish line.

Runner 1: Start in Holzhausen until Monastery Arnstein (33km)
Runner 2: Start at Monastery Arnstein until Mineral well in Marienfels (25km)
We will bring Runner 1 to Marienfels where he wait at the CP and run together with Runner 2 the last 9km.

The baton will be 1kg of raw potatoes, so it makes a kind of sense to run with a running backpack. We are different in many ways. 🙂

Mandatory equipment:

Recommended Equipment:
Backpack with hydration bladder to run a distance of 15km without support. Don’t forget, it’s July and it might be hot! We might have additional water stations if the weather is too hot.
The course will be well marked but a running watch with GPS navigation or any other GPS device might be helpful.
A mobile phone with enough power for emergency calls and, better, to make enough photos from the gorgeous scenery.

If you have to drop out of the Run you have to get to the nearest checkpoint and inform the staff there. in emergency case you can also call the emergency number on your bib. A shuttle service will bring you from the checkpoint to the finish line in Holzhausen. Please be patient, it might take a while until a shuttle is available.

You run through the Nassau County Nature Park. You pass through the Nassau Nature Park. You reach the eponymous mountain, the „Grauer Kopf“ (gray head), shortly after the start, before you approach the banks of the river Lahn during a deadly, several kilometers downhill run. After a short visit of the city / castle Nassau the course take you through the „Muehlbach“ (mill creek) valley back to the finish line. Quite simple, isn’t it? ? The track offers an attractive mix of 10% asphalt, 60% natural trails and 30% single trails with moderate +1870Hm.
